The Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law – New York, Inc. (the “Coalition”) is a New York not-for-profit corporation founded in 2016 for the purpose of advancing the recruitment, retention, and promotion of women lawyers. The membership of the Coalition is comprised of law firms and companies as corporate members and in-house counsel and lawyers for governmental and nonprofit entities as individual members. In just two years, our New York Chapter has grown to include over 20 corporate and individual members, including law firms, solo practitioners, in-house counsel and governmental employees.
The Coalition is the first expansion chapter of the Chicago Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law, which was launched in 2008, and now has over 70 law firms and 40 companies as members.
The Coalition organizes regular events that provide valuable networking opportunities to its members, many of which provide CLE credit. The Coalition is also an excellent platform for attorneys to obtain speaking engagements and leadership opportunities such as serving on a governing board and chairing a committee.
